“Be messy and complicated and afraid and show up anyways”
My name is Grace, and I’m a Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
I’m passionate about the mental health field and genuinely love what I do. When life feels overwhelming, it can be easy to lose sight of yourself. Therapy offers a space to slow down, feel heard, and begin moving forward.
I work with children (ages 6+), teens, and adults navigating anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and relationship patterns that leave them feeling disconnected from themselves or others. As a former elementary school teacher, I also bring a unique understanding of child development, school-related challenges, and the experience of supporting children and families.
Together, we’ll explore the patterns keeping you stuck while building practical skills, self-understanding, and confidence to create meaningful, lasting change. Therapy is a collaborative process, and our work will be shaped by what matters most to you—whether that means establishing boundaries, fostering more secure connections, changing the way you speak to yourself, or identifying barriers that are getting in the way of a more fulfilling and balanced life. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. My hope is that you’ll feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are, feel genuinely understood, and leave each session with greater clarity about yourself and how you want to move forward. You can expect a relaxed, genuine, and collaborative approach - and, when the moment is right, a little humour.
